The OSHADHI Difference:

Essential Oils:

Essential Oils are characterized as being the concentrated essence of plants, distilled out of the flowers, leaves, fruit, peel, bark or wood. However, we know them as powerfully radiating energies from the secret treasure house of Nature’s intelligence. It is with this thinking that we have traveled the world to find the best quality essential oils derived from plants that grow in their ideal conditions and are nurtured by Nature and knowledgeable and caring hands.

Oshadhi Quality:

There are four aspects to understanding the quality¬Ě of an essential oil. The first is the subtle clarity, purity and energy of a particular essential oil. It is well-known and understood, world-over, that the art of wine-making involves the proper growing conditions and soil, and then the proper handling of the grapes.

As in wine-making, essential oils are very much impacted by the soil, the climate, the growing conditions, the handling and the processing that is done. Oshadhi has recognized the premium importance of this point, and has spent the last 20 years or more understanding and sourcing each oil from its optimal growing regions around the globe, at the same time forging relationships directly with the growers and distillers that have blossomed into strong partnerships and friendships.

The second aspect to define the quality of an essential oil is the use of a trained olfactory sense. It is well known in the perfumery business that certain individuals have a very finely trained sense of smell, and with that capability, they are able to design perfumes that have a particularly powerful, yet subtle impact. The same type of olfactory sense is needed to distinguish the finest quality essential oils from those of lesser grades. Oshadhi has been able to gain its premier reputation on the distinct and unparalleled fineness of the oils in the range.

The third aspect is the proper handling and respect for the plants and the oils derived from them. This goes from the methods of distillation to the conditions of handling, packaging and storing of the oils.

Optical rotation

The fourth and final aspect is ensuring that the oils are not contaminated or adulterated, nor subject to synthetic added mixtures, and to that end, Oshadhi employs a wide range of standard scientific testing techniques to ensure that oils are pure. This is an important point in today’s marketplace where so many products are adulterated. The tests used by Oshadhi include optical rotation, refraction, density, gas chromatography or mass spectrography. These scientific methods provide assurance that no adulterants have been used to dilute or change the purity of the oils, but it must be remembered that lack of adulteration is not, in and of itself, a determination of the quality and subtle energy of an essential oil. These tests, therefore, do not replace the need for a trained and dedicated team of experts with a fine olfactory sense, combined with a clear understanding of the growing conditions, sourcing, proper distillation methods and handling of the oils.
